Home Improvements
Your thoughts may be directed towards home improvements, a new swimming pool, a fence or accessory storage building.  Many of these projects will require a permit before the work proceeds.  The Building Official is required to approve a building plan if you are going to add a patio or enlarge an existing patio.  He will also have to issue a building permit if you want to erect or place a storage building on your property.  Certain setbacks and constraints would apply to this permit, including erosion control.
If a swimming pool is planned, the Building Official again would be the person to talk to.  The cost of a permit is nominal and it could avoid significant cost that may be incurred if ordinances are ignored.  In addition, penalty provisions apply to all construction which proceeds without the proper permit(s) and inspections.  We urge everyone to comply with Zoning, Construction and Public Health Codes for the welfare of the entire community.

Building Code
The Township utilizes the 2003 International Building Code.  Permits are issued after a plan review has been completed.

Sheds
The Zoning Ordinance has provisions regulating storage sheds, regardless of type and proposed location.  All such structures are subject to review and permit, regardless of size and location.  These regulations include a shed on a temporary foundation.  Please contact the Township Building Official when planning to erect one of these structures.

Driveways
Permits are required for access of all new construction as well as any alterations or resurfacing of any existing driveway.
